What to Pick for Your Kids This Wedding Season

"Kids This Wedding Season"

The wedding season has us scrambling for best outfits to wear for different functions. We’re busy mixing separates to create new looks and accessories to jazz them up. In all this, why would you make your kids wear boring frocks and pants to these occasions? Payal Bahl, founder of Chiquitita, a kidswear brand, tells us about different fun outfits you can pick for the tiny tots this season.

Keep it traditional
Pick traditional silhouettes like lehengas with short blouses, short anarkali kurtas and churidaar kurtas with balloon sleeves.

Pick bright colours
Colourful outfits look good on children, don’t you think? For a day wear event, pick pastels in unique shades like apple green, coral and bright peach. For the night, choose from fuschia, yellows, teal and turquoise.

Change it up each time

Kids don’t have to be dressed in the same clothes always. For a sangeet or a mehendi function, you can choose a churidaar kurta or an anarkali for your little girl, while boys can be dressed in brightly-hued kurta pyjama or a pathani kurta and salwar. If you’re headed for a cocktail party, pick a pretty dress for your little woman, and dress the boys in a smart shirt and trousers. Add a jacket if it is a cold night. For a wedding reception, deck up girls in a flowy lehenga with short cholis and dress up boys in a bandhgala jacket. You can also pick fun silhouettes like a bubble skirt/kurti or a long flowy dress.

Tips while packing for a holiday
Holiday wear for kids should be comfortable. For a holiday by the beach, pack swimsuits, shorts and cute tank tops. If you are heading to the hills, pack a snug jacket, brightly-coloured caps and mittens.
